Today we’re shining a spotlight on Stroud Women’s Refuge. Our Charity of the Year and the only remaining women’s refuge in Gloucestershire, this lifesaving charity have been running for nearly 50 years, supporting women and children who have been forced to leave their homes due to domestic abuse.
The refuge itself offers sanctuary where women can recover and begin the process of rebuilding their lives. In addition, through its team of support workers and community outreach programme, women can establish finances, work, housing, and schooling for their children, so that they can confidently move on to build a happy and independent family life.
With a brand that speaks to a variety of audiences while representing vulnerable individuals, we needed to treat the project with sensitivity and care. We met many times with SWR, defining a visual identity and tone of voice that would speak clearly and effectively to clients, fellow support agencies and – vitally – fund-givers.
We developed a fantastic website, updated a suite of collateral and then, with the help of SWR’s support workers, we created a new range of donation packages. These Support Packages are designed to help clients and their children from the moment they arrive at the refuge – often carrying nothing at all – to the day they move into their new family home and beyond.
